As another week passes us by…

Summer officially begins this Friday!

Here at Cherry Ridge Retreat, the signs of summer are starting to show. Our tiny goslings are growing up, the baby barn swallows are chirping and trying out their wings and this year’s new fawns are starting to explore the property! Everywhere is green and all this rain is certainly helping! This week we’ve got plenty to get up to in the Hills, so lets jump right in!

Flaming Torchlight Tour of Hocking

Saturday, June 22nd, beginning at 7-8pm.

Enjoy the quiet peace of the Hocking river at nightfall. A flaming torch leads the way in the head canoe, so have no fears of getting lost! Rather let yourself enjoy the croaking of the frogs and ever present ringing chirp of the crickets and grasshoppers. Live music will be featured after the trip, with a bonfire and -best of all!- s’mores will be provided! Check out Hocking Hills Canoeing for more information!

Rock at Rockside

Saturday, June 22nd, 1pm & 4pm

Enjoy the breathtaking geology of Ohio’s unique Rock House formation then enjoy some family friendly, toe-tapping live music of Johnny Ohio at the Shelter House. Johnny Ohio’s sound is self described as “a little twang of rockabilly, a little flavoring of folk and a twist of his own.” A fun way to take in both the nature and culture of Ohio’s Hocking Hills!

That should be enough to keep you busy this week! Make sure to take some time to relax and breathe in the fresh Hocking Hills air! Stop by next week to see What’s Happening in Hocking Hills!
