Breweries
Perhaps the most well known in the Hocking Hills region is Jackie O’s in Athens, just a stone’s throw away from Ohio University. They locally source their ingredients from their own farm land and have great seasonal offerings. One of the more unique breweries and tasting rooms you’ll find is at Rockmill Brewery in Lancaster, which is situated on a horse farm and has its tasting room in an actual farmhouse. Brewery 33 in Logan has a great offering of German-inspired beers, like their hefeweizen, and has live music outside in the summer months!
Wineries
The perfect compliment to a romantic getaway is a stroll through the vineyards of Hocking Hills. Hocking Hills Winery in Logan offers a wonderful selection of red and white wines, made from both local grapes and grapes from around the world. Rockside Winery and Vineyards offers unique flavors from grapes that love the Ohio climate, and live music on Saturday nights.
Moonshine?
Yes, Hocking Hills is home to a true moonshine distillery, which also offers free tours to take in the history of prohibition and learn the process for making the era’s most popular spirit. Stop in to try some Buckeye Lightning!
