In the winter months, tourist population usually dwindles, making it the perfect time to visit and be at one with nature. Fewer tourists means more privacy for you and your family, whether you are hiking one of the popular trails or enjoying some of the local restaurants and shops. As a reminder, Hocking Hills State Park is open year round, so take advantage of this less populated time to explore!

❄️Stunning Frozen Sights
Another perk of a winter getaway in Hocking Hills? You have the opportunity to experience the beautiful snowy views and gorgeous frozen waterfalls, like the famous “Ice Angel” at Conkle’s Hollow (just a 30 minute drive from Cherry Ridge Retreat).Just make sure to watch your step, as those stones can be slippery!

Support local shops! Hocking Hills has many one-of-a-kind shops where you can find the best gifts, souvenirs and more. ❄️Warm up with some Local Coffee
Who doesn’t love a great cup of coffee?! Hocking Hills is home to some great coffee shops! The Coffee Emporium, located in Logan, focuses on coffee and espresso drinks and even offers nitro cold brew and Kombucha. They also have great food and a great selection of gifts/souvenirs. There is also Oasis Coffee, which is located in Rockbridge, a perfect option after exploring the Rock Bridge Nature Reserve!
❄️Relax by the fireplace in your luxurious Cherry Ridge cabin
The best part about Cherry Ridge Retreat is that you don’t have to leave your cabin to have the best getaway! Relax in your private hot tub while you watch the snow fall down around you or curl up by your fireplace in your Cherry Ridge Retreat robe! The Boat House has heated bathroom floors and a private sauna, to make your winter stay even more comfortable! The only difficult part? Choosing your cabin!
