What’s happening in Hocking Hills…

Fall is coming to an end but we aren’t quite to winter yet!  Now it’s getting dark earlier, and no doubt getting colder, but there is still plenty to enjoy when the temps get low. For example, there’s no better time to enjoy your private hot tub than on a brisk chilly day, or relax in front of  the indoor fireplace in your luxury cabin! Regardless of the chill coming in, there is still plenty of great activities to explore in Hocking Hills these next few weeks…

Historic Lantern Tour at Ash Cave (Friday, November 15th 6pm)

Take advantage of the early darkness and enjoy this group tour of Ash Cave. Explore by lantern light and learn all about the history of Ash Cave. How were the caves formed? When was the cave first documented? Learn all that and more at this interactive educational session!

Birds Birds and more Birds at Old Mans Cave (Saturday, November 16th 1pm)

Calling all Birders! If you can’t get enough of watching these colorful, sing-songing feathered friends, this event is for you! Meeting at the A-Frame bridge to learn about the birds that call Hocking Hills home, as well as their more fair’weathered migratory friends!

Record Sale at Stuart Opera House (Sunday, November 17th 12-5pm)

Stop over at Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville to stock up your record collection! There will be LPs, 45s, CDs and more available to purchase. Make sure to stop by and dig through some crates to grow your collection and get your nostalgia going blast!

Whispering Cave Hike (Friday, November 22nd 10am)

Have you ever wanted to explore Whispering Cave? Join up with the naturalist at Hocking Hills state park (meeting at the trailhead by the cabin/lodge area). Enjoy this guided moderately strenuous group hike into the second larges recess cave in the Hocking Hills park.

Fly Tying at Old Man’s Cave Welcome Center (Saturday, November 23rd 2pm)

Have you ever wanted to learn more about fly fishing? Join Hocking Hills naturalist by the fire at the Visitors Center for a quick demonstration on the art and process of creating your own fishing flies. A perfect time to get stocked up for all your fly fishing needs!

Arm Knitting Class in Logan (Saturday, November 23rd 1-3pm)

Calling all crafters and Pinterest fans! Arm knitting is a huge fad online and off, so stop on over in Logan to learn about the process and steps to create your own arm knitted blanket or scarf! Perfect for a holiday gift, or keep it all for yourself! The event is $10 for the class and no knitting experience is necessary. Bring your own yarn and make sure to RSVP at 740-974-6365 to reserve your spot!
